Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Aka the list of questions nobody asked but we thought that were important anyway.
I have a question that's not here. What do?
Quickest way is to join the
discord and ask your question, be patient for someone to answer.
If there is nobody available to answer, you can also ask your question in the
forum or message your question to Puru at this website.
What time zone are times displayed in?
All times are UTC.
How do I know if the site is down?
Check the #announcement channel on our
discord server
Adding a favorite takes a really long time, what do?
Disable any flash or ad blockers you have installed (you can simply whitelist the domain).
What is PururinFire? What can I download?
All galleries that are published are available as direct download here
for a limited time. The primary purpose is to bridge the time it takes to upload files to remote hosts like DepositFiles.
You need an account to download, and you can only download a limited amount per day. The good news is there are no waiting times or captchas to fill out.
Remember Pururin is an online reader, these downloadable archives are just an extra.
What is a good program to read the doujinshi/manga I downloaded with?
HoneyView is highly recommended, it's an advanced and very fast image viewer perfect for reading manga. Most hotkeys and actions can easily be done with one hand too, which is usefull if
you like to pet your cat while reading.
CDisplayEx is also a good viewer. No recommendations for OSX or Linux yet, sorry, but HoneyView runs fine in Wine.
What happens if I try to activate an account on my computer when I already have one?
The account that is currently used will be merged with the one you are activating/recovering. This means the current account will be gone forever. Your favorites will be added to the new account, but points are lost.
Why don't I have a password for my account? Is my account secure?
Instead of a password your computer remembers an unique key it uses to access your account. As long as you keep your this key to yourself your account is secure.
The benefit is that you do not have to remember a password or username at all. Since the key is 224 bits, it's probably harder to crack than that 3 letter password you usually use as well.
This method is about as secure as any site that uses non-SSL encrypted login (which is the large majority of sites). We'll let you decide how secure that actually is..
