Marik Catgirl and Kemonomimi do not care about that distinction, both real ears and fake ears count (though some animal girl tags like Fox Girl technically require a (real or fake) tail as well, at least over on EH, Catgirl is not one of them)
This shit is exactly why I did not want to specify a gender, especially not female, in the tag definition. If the artist draws it as a dude/trap, it's a dude, if an artist draws someone as a female/tomboy you can yell "Mordred Pendragon was a man" all you want but it's still a girl.
Biologically, she is still a man. She only identifies herself as a woman.
Even though there aren't too many works of it here, but otherwise you'd have to change all the works with Yamato from One Piece. Then She identifies with a man, even if she is a woman.
