It's a replacement, the initial database (aka about 99% of Puru's uploads) used resizes from NH. We no longer allow resizes on new uploads and gradually replace the ones we have with full resolution.

Of course the stuff that can replaced can easily drown out new content on the contribution list, so I bottleneck it by only upgrading when the files on the old one are corrupted and need to be replaced anyway, or sometimes just on a whim when I already have the ex page open for tagging anyway (most tag edits I do here are mirrored to all versions of the same gallery on EH, posting them here https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=184081&st=19640 if I can't kill the tag there by myself)
